Colorado Shopping Guide: Spotlighting local makers, small businesses and holiday shopping opportunities

Note: Everything highlighted in this guide was either found through suggestions from Colorado residents or promotional social media posts from organizations/businesses in Colorado. No local publications were consulted or used to create this list.
With Small Business Weekend and the holidays approaching, makers and small business owners throughout Colorado are encouraging their communities to shop locally.
This unexhaustive guide lists statewide businesses participating in Small Business Weekend, many of which are offering incentives throughout the holiday season. It also highlights upcoming events within and outside of Small Business Weekend that will feature small vendors.
Aurora
2nd Time Around Thrift is having a “Black Friday/Small Biz Saturday/End of Month” Sale, which will happen Nov. 29-30 from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Everything is 75% off, and all clothes are $1.
According to their website, 2nd Time Around Thrift is a family-owned thrift store that offers daily deals.
La Victoria Healing Kitchen is hosting a “Small Business Saturday Winter Market” on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to their announcement, treats and brunch will be provided.
Berthoud
The Source Zero will sell their zero-waste products at the Colorado Makers Market for Small Business Weekend. The market will take place on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. According to their website, The Source Zero sells “refillable, reusable, or biodegradable” goods made for everyday use as well as household product refills.
TruePenny Studio will offer online-only Small Business Saturday deals from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1; according to their website, they offer waxing, facials and other skin-related treatments as well as skincare products and consultation appointments. Gift certificates can also be purchased.
TruePenny Studio will offer 20% off masks, lip care deals, 20% off OmniLux LED masks, 20% off body products and 10% off everything else, according to their announcement.
Wild Outdoor Creations is hosting the “3rd Annual Winter Craft Fair” on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to their event page, the fair is free to attend, and more than 50 artisans and food trucks will be present.
Boulder
According to their website, Sturtz & Copeland Florist and Greenhouse sells flower bouquets and arrangements, house and bedding plants, garden supplies and more. According to their recent Instagram post, they will have rolling deals every hour from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. More information on each hour’s sale is available in their announcement post.
Bolder Pilates, a female-owned pilates studio that offers classes and private events, will have Small Business Weekend deals from Nov. 30 to Dec.2. According to their Facebook post, introductory class packages will be sold, select private and group class options will be 10% off, customers will receive 15% back when they buy gift cards and merch will available to purchase. More details on each offer can be viewed in Bolder Pilates’ announcement post.
The Coffee Stand will be hosting one of their Upstart Saturday Markets on Nov. 30, where small businesses, start-ups and vendors can sell their products. These events are held every Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Yoga Pearl will host their Annual Small Business Saturday Market on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Small vendors will be participating, and attendees can enter a raffle to win prizes. A list of the market’s vendors can be found on Yoga Pearl’s website.
There will be a “Shop the Bluff Holiday Market” event at UncommonWares on Dec. 7. From 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.; attendees can buy gifts and art from local creatives. More information on the artists and makers who will be selling at the event is available on Facebook.
Brighton
Whiteside’s Boots and Clothing, a western and work clothing store, will offer three days of deals starting Nov. 29. According to their announcement, Ariat Boots will be up to $100 off, an additional $10 off will apply to red ticketed boots, wallets and gloves will be offered for $4.50 and up and customers will receive a free gift with select purchases.
Pinnacle Gardens, Inc. will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. Their announcement notes they will provide “make & take projects” for all ages, and drinks and snacks will be offered.
The garden center sells supplies, décor and plants that are native to Colorado.
Cañon City
Kaleidoscope Inspiration is a boutique that features over 100 small business, artisan and maker-produced goods. According to their Facebook announcement, anyone who purchases $50 in gift cards during Black Friday or Small Business Weekend will get a free $10 gift card. The shop is open on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Castle Rock
Castle Rock Music will have in-store-only deals on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. The music store will offer 15% off of everything, 20% off lesson gift cards and 25% off Teton guitars. They will be open on Friday from 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Castle Rock Collective will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. According to their website, the collective is made up of Wellspring & Co Coffee and World Orphans Market; they sell coffee, baked goods and artisan products in one space, and their work helps keep families together and benefits adults with special needs.
Commerce City
The MomCO at Landing Place Church will host their 3rd Annual Christmas Market on Nov. 30 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event’s page notes that the market will feature treats, handmade items and photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Colorado Springs
Done Right Painting and Construction offers painting, staining, replacement and repair services and more; they work on projects throughout El Paso County, Woodland Park, Castle Rock and Denver, among other surrounding areas. According to their website, those interested in a free consultation or quote can contact the business, either by emailing drp@donerightpaintingcs.com or calling 719-551-2123.
Moonchild Candle Co. will be at Lush Beauty Lounge for a “Sip & Shop” event, which will take place on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The small business sells hand-poured candles, wax melts, room sprays and more, according to their Facebook page.
Additionally, the company is offering free shipping on all orders over $100 until Dec. 24 at midnight.
According to Facebook, Latisha Hardy Dance & Co Ltd. will have discounts on new gear, clearance t-shirts, 20% off select shoes and discounted class packages. They will also have three free dance classes throughout the day; noon-1 p.m. will be Salsa, 1-2 p.m. will be Bachata and 2-3 p.m. will be Mambo. Packages can also be purchased here on Black Friday.
The dance studio will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. or by appointment.
Terra Verde Boutique will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. This business is women-owned and sells primarily women’s clothing, as well as men’s and babies’ apparel, accessories and gifts.
Cambio Pikes Peak, a donation-based yoga studio offering in-person and virtual classes, will have deals on merchandise, release new products and sell special class packages for Small Business Saturday. According to their announcement, Golden Root will serve food, and a few small business vendors will participate in the event.
Cambio Pikes Peak’s event will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information is available in their announcement.
45 Degree, an art gallery and frame shop, will be open from 10:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. According to their event page, customers who make a purchase of $100 or more will receive a free canvas bag.
Additionally, the Old Colorado City Christmas Stroll takes place on Nov. 30 from 5 to 8 p.m. According to their website, 45 Degree will give anyone who makes a purchase during this time a “complimentary small, hand-painted ornament.”
Sunshine Studios Live will have a “Rocking Around the Christmas Tree Holiday Bazaar” on Dec. 1, which will last from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; attendees can buy from local vendors, a full bar will be provided and Santa will make an appearance.
Denver
Smile Right LLC offers teeth whitening services and tooth gem placement appointments; Smile Right’s owner, Tashina Rivera, said she has been a dental assistant for over 18 years. According to their Instagram announcement, for the rest of November, an hour-long whitening session is $99.
Stone Bear Studios, a pottery studio and gallery, will be open on Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to their announcement, there will be a pottery sale, throwing demonstrations, a raffle and holiday-themed handbuilding workshops taking place.
Those interested can attend the workshop for $10 if they book a spot before the event or for $15 at the door.
Chain Reaction Records will be open for Black Friday, and they will have “storewide sales” on records and other gifts. More information about their products can be found on their website.
Strawberry Mountain, a used clothing resale store, will be open from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. According to their Instagram post, gift cards will be available to purchase.
Anyone who wants to sell their clothing and accessories can book an appointment here.
According to their Instagram, Petals & Pages will offer 15% off everything from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. They will also gift a $20 gift card to customers who spend $100, and those who buy a Petals & Pages membership get a free tote bag. Those who choose to shop on their website can use the code SHOPSMALL15 for their 15% discount.
Petals & Pages is a queer woman-owned “bookstore, flower shop and community space” that also sells book-related gifts.
The River North Art District will be hosting a holiday market called “It’s a RINo-Ful Life!” The market takes place on Dec. 7 from noon to 4 p.m., and it will feature more than 30 local businesses and live music. According to their announcement, a free hot cocoa bar and holiday portrait will be offered. Free holiday crafts for kids will be available for the first 200 attendees, and the first 100 attendees will receive a screen-printed holiday tote bag.
Crystal Castle Beads will host a holiday market on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. According to their event page, the market will feature more than 10 artists offering everything from ornaments and baked goods to tarot readings and dreamcatchers. More information on some of the products that will be available to purchase can be found in the event’s description.
Durango
Sun Sapphires will be open on Nov. 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to their website, the shop sells, appraises, customizes and repairs jewelry. They also sell stained and fused glass art, and they offer classes and workshops on how to create both types.
According to their Facebook announcement, those who shop in-store will get $5 off any purchase of $25 or more on Small Business Saturday.
Fort Collins
The Fort Collins Holiday Market Series will take place on Nov. 29 and Dec. 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. It will be located in the Odell Brewing Company on both dates.
Ginger and Baker will host their 4th Annual Holiday Market on Dec. 15 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. A list of the vendors that will be participating is available on the event’s page.
Fountain
Book Archive, Ltd., a used bookstore that also sells vintage toys and gifts, will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. According to their event page, anyone who buys a $50 gift certificate will also receive one for $10. There will also be five snowflakes hidden throughout their store for customers to find, each worth $5 off a future purchase.
Olde Town Coffee Shop will offer Small Business Weekend deals from Nov. 29 to Dec. 1; the store will be open from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. each day. According to their event page, customers can get “special deals” on gift cards and an Olde Town Coffee Shop holiday sticker with every purchase they make.
Glenwood Springs
Alpenglow Books & Gifts will be open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. According to their event post, anyone who shops in-store has the chance to win a $100 gift card.
Alpenglow primarily sells new books, and they stock local art, goods, activities and other gifts, according to their website.
Glenwood Springs Community Center will host a holiday bazaar on Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to their event page, more than 40 local vendors will participate; food trucks and other refreshments will be offered, and holiday crafts will be available for any kids in attendance.
Golden
Golden Ghee products are available to purchase at Humble House Cafe. Their announcement post mentions that jars of their ghee and Triple Cranberry Sauce, as well as spoons, are available to purchase there. More of their products are available on their website.
New Terrain Brewing Co. is having a holiday market on Dec. 15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to their Facebook event page, vendors will offer local handmade goods, art and designs, and attendees can participate in an ugly sweater contest.
Golden Outpost will host a holiday market Dec. 14-15 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. According to their event description, local vendors will be selling gifts, art, clothes and more. A full bar will be available, and a Mac Nation Café food truck will be present. Santa will also make an appearance each day from noon to 2 p.m. to take photos with families.
Greeley
Indie Arts Greeley will host a market on Nov. 30 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.; 35 artists and vendors will be participating, and coffee from John Galt Coffee Co. will be available.
Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention’s Greeley Chapter will host a holiday bazaar on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Dec. 1 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to the event page, more than 75 local vendors will sell décor and gifts. Attendees can get photos with Santa and Mrs. Claus, win door prizes and giveaways and enjoy food from The Slawpy Barn while they shop.
The event announcement also notes that every purchase benefits the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Prevention Program.
Littleton
Pink Attic Cat LLC will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. According to their Facebook page, the almost 30-year-old shop offers unique vintage products.
The shop will host a few events within Small Business Weekend. According to a message attached to their announcement post, gifts and treats will be offered on Black Friday. On Small Business Saturday, carriage rides will take place from noon to 3 p.m., and cocoa will be provided. On Sunday, Santa photo opportunities and visits will take place from 1 to 3 p.m. Cookies and cocoa will be provided for this event.
Longmont
According to their Facebook post, Magic Fairy Candles will offer 30% off all of their products for Small Business Saturday in-store. They will also offer 30% off every order online from Nov. 30 to Dec.2
Magic Fairy Candles sells aromatics and metaphysical products, including candles, crystals, incense, smudges, ritual kits and more.
Colorado Aromatics will be open for Small Business Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to their announcement, they will offer 10% off in-store only.
With the help of their founder’s scientific background, Colorado Aromatics sells sustainable herbal bath, body and facial products.
Firehouse Art Center will have a holiday market on Nov. 30 from noon to 8 p.m. and Dec. 1 from noon to 5 p.m. According to their event page for day one, the market will feature local artists, creators and makers. A list of vendors is available on each day’s event page.
Louisville
Masala Spatula will be part of the Moxie Louisville Holiday Market, happening Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. According to their announcement, Masala Spatula will sell ghee and spice blends, and customers can ask for information on how to participate in their Indian cuisine cooking classes.
The Archer + The Ram will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Small Business Saturday. According to their announcement, each purchase made enters a customer into a drawing for a $250 gift basket.
The boutique sells art, jewelry, home goods, women’s clothing and other gift items made by local artisans.
Loveland
Crooked Beech Brewing Company is having a holiday vendor market on Dec. 8 from noon to 5 p.m. According to their event announcement, around 20 makers will be selling baked and handcrafted goods.
Manitou Springs
Commonwheel Artists Co-op, an art gallery, will have a holiday market from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. almost every day through Dec. 28; the market will not be open on Christmas Day. According to their event page, customers can purchase local art, pottery, crafted goods and more at the market.
Happy Cats Haven is having a holiday market on Dec. 14 from noon to 4 p.m. According to their event page, local artists and vendors will sell handmade art and jewelry during this event.
On Dec. 14 from noon to 6 p.m., Happy Cat Haven will also be hosting a Cat Bazaar, where customers can buy “cat gifts,” toys and beds.
Morrison
The Moxi Poppy will offer 10% off all purchases and give customers free fudge if they spend $100; according to an Instagram announcement, anyone who finds all of the “twinkling stars” in their shop will get to spin a prize wheel. The shop sells products from more than 100 Colorado businesses and local vendors, and those interested can find out more about each one on The Moxy Poppy’s Instagram page.
Peyton
Lewis and Holmes will be open on Small Business Saturday from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. According to their Facebook page, they are “a gift shoppe of unusual distinction with an old-world flare.”
According to their Facebook announcement, Lewis and Holmes will have a drawing to win six bags of tea and will offer refreshments on Small Business Saturday. Customers can also get gift cards with their purchases; the shop is gifting a $15 gift card to customers who make a $150 purchase, a $20 gift card for a $200 purchase, a $25 gift card for a $250 purchase and a $30 gift card for a $300 purchase.
Pueblo
Karmic Konnection, a metaphysical shop, will have Small Business Saturday deals online and in person. According to Dawn Thompson, the owner of Karmic Konnection, the shop sells incense, home décor, crystals, jewelry and more. On Small Business Saturday, Thompson said that all regular-price products will be 20% off in-store and online; they will also offer 50% off shelf and $5 off readings.
The shop will offer holiday gift sets and additional discounts throughout December, and Thompson noted that gift cards are available for purchase

Security
Security Florist sells flower bouquets for numerous occasions; their website notes that they offer gift items, including stuffed animals, gift baskets, décor, candles and sweets. They also have a greenhouse with plants and dish gardens for sale. Gifts can be ordered online, over the phone or at their storefront.
Woodland Park
The Picket Fence, a gift shop that supports local artists, said on their Facebook page that they will have specials for Black Friday and Small Business Saturday. The photos on their page show Christmas cards, holiday décor and other gifts available for purchase. The shop will be open from 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday and from 10:30 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Saturday.
